Beyoncé’s “COWBOY CARTER” breaks Spotify record

Beyoncé’s eighth studio album, “COWBOY CARTER,” breaks the Spotify record for the most streamed album in a single day shortly after its release. It was released last Friday (March 29th) via Columbia Records. Even before the album’s release, the singer made history with the single ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,’ becoming the first black artist to top both the Hot Country Songs charts and the Hot 100 charts with a country song.

“COWBOY CARTER” is firmly rooted in the country genre and serves as the second part of Beyoncé’s “RENAISSANCE” trilogy. The artist herself describes the new album as an “experiment.” Each song is a reinterpretation of a cult Western film and was inspired by movies such as “The Hateful Eight,” “Space Cowboys,” and “Killers of the Flower Moon,” which often played on a screen during the recordings.

Beyoncé has worked on the new album for over 5 years. “It’s the best music I’ve ever made,” says the artist. The album features contributions from legendary artists such as Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder, Chuck Berry, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Tanner Adell, and Tiera Kennedy.

Beyoncé is one of the most successful artists globally, with over 200 million records sold and the most Grammy Awards won by an individual (32 Grammy Awards). All seven of her albums have reached number one on the American Billboard charts. In Germany, her last album, “RENAISSANCE,” reached number 2 on the album charts.
