Beyoncé announces her eighth album
Overnight Beyoncé has released two new singles: ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM‘ and ‘16 CARRIAGES‘. Yesterday, the artist announced the songs as part of a viral Super Bowl commercial and in the same context she announced her upcoming album, which will be released on March 29, 2024 via Columbia Records.
The upcoming album era marks a new and carefully crafted sound that is firmly rooted in the country genre. This is already evident in the two new songs. For example, ‘TEXAS HOLD ‘EM’ consists almost exclusively of acoustic guitars, bass drum and vocals.
Beyoncé’s previously released album “RENAISSANCE” (2022) mainly consists of dance and house tracks and is a tribute to the queer black community and club culture. It has been streamed over 3.5 billion times worldwide, including over 100 million times in Germany. The album reached the top of the charts in the UK and US, and second place in Germany and Austria.
“RENAISSANCE” was announced as part of a triology at the time of its release. Fans can now look forward to the second part.
