James Arthur debuts at number one in the UK charts

James Arthur has conquered the British album charts with his fifth studio album (released on January 26, 2024 via Columbia Records).

“Bitter Sweet Love” is the artist’s second number one album. His previous number one “Back from the Edge” (2016) was awarded platinum. In total, the singer has gone platinum four times and gold twice. Arthur rose to fame in 2012 when he won the ninth season of the casting show “The X Factor”.

Overwhelmed by his number one ranking, he thanks his fans on Instagram: “So many thank yous, but YOU the fans are the reason I’m here. This one’s for you”. For him, “Bitter Sweet Love” symbolizes a long journey marked by self-doubt, hopelessness and glimmers of hope. He emphasizes that the reason for his success are the people who believed in him when he did not.
