Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ wins Global Single Award for 2023

Miley Cyrus has received the Global Single Award 2023 for her hit ‘Flowers’ from IFPI – the organization that represents the music industry worldwide. The award is presented annually to the artist with the best-selling single of the year worldwide in all digital formats (including paid streaming services, ad-supported platforms and single track downloads).

For Cyrus, it is the first time being represented in the IFPI Global Chart Top 10. The double Grammy Award-winning song, which was released in January 2023, reached No. 1 in 29 markets worldwide and ended 2023 at the top of the charts in markets such as the UK, France and Australia. In Germany, the singer not only achieved her first number one position in the single charts, but also remained at number one in the airplay charts for nine consecutive weeks.

A total of three Sony Music artists are represented in the Top 5 of the Global Single Charts 2023: In addition to Miley Cyrus, SZA landed 3rd place with “Kill Bill”, while Harry Styles placed 5th with “As It Was”. Congratulations to all artists!
